Some photos from last night's exhibition opening of American photographer Robin V. Robinson's Dylan Thomas related photographs and the launch of the book of photographs (which has accompanying chosen Dylan Thomas texts by American writer John Dotson) at Narberth Museum, West Wales. Many thanks to poet Mark Lewis for organising the exhibition and launch and many thanks to Lorna and the staff at the Museum. It's a wonderful museum and well worth visiting.

THE SEVENTH QUARRY: A NEW ISSUE THAT UNITES THE WORLD THROUGH POETRY

The new issue of the international poetry magazine The Seventh Quarry has been released, directed by Welsh poet, playwright, and editor Peter Thabit Jones, one of the most authoritative voices in contemporary Welsh literature. With this issue, the magazine once again confirms its mission: to build cultural bridges, weave together voices from different countries, and give space to poetry as a universal language.

Founded in Swansea, The Seventh Quarry has become a point of reference for authors and readers seeking poetry capable of crossing geographical and linguistic boundaries. Each issue brings together different styles, sensibilities, and traditions, forming a mosaic that reflects the richness of international poetry.

This new volume features poets from:

Wales. England, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Albania, India. Australia, Canada, and America.

Among the Italian authors included are Regina Resta, Sabrina Morelli, Antonietta Micali, and Francesca Gallello Gabriel Italo Nel Gomez, together with many other voices that contribute to making this issue a true international chorus.

In a time when speed risks suffocating depth, magazines like The Seventh Quarry play a fundamental role: – they create connections between distant authors – they encourage dialogue between cultures and poetic traditions – they offer space to both emerging and established voices – they preserve slowness and the care of the written word – they build cultural networks that transcend borders and distances

They are places of encounter, listening, and exchange. Places where poetry is not only published, but shared.

Speaking of The Seventh Quarry also means evoking Wales, a land that gave birth to figures such as Dylan Thomas and that still maintains a deep relationship with poetic language. Its green hills, rugged coastlines, small villages overlooking the Atlantic, its ancient and melodious language: everything in Wales seems to invite contemplation, storytelling, and poetry.

It is within this context that Peter Thabit Jones carries out his editorial work with rare and precious dedication. Poet, playwright, and essayist, Jones is a central figure in the Welsh literary scene. His editorial vision is clear: to give space to the poetry of the world, to create a place where voices can meet without hierarchy, without barriers, with respect and openness.

His magazine is a concrete example of how literature can become a network, a dialogue, an exchange, a cultural friendship. This new issue of The Seventh Quarry is not just a publication: it is a journey through countries, languages, and sensibilities. It is an invitation to discover new authors, to rediscover beloved voices, to let oneself be moved and transformed by poetry.

A heartfelt thanks goes to Peter Thabit Jones for his tireless work and for his ability to hold the world together through the power of words.
